Stripping

In open pit mining operations, it is necessary to remove overburden and other barren waste materials in order to access ore from which minerals can be extracted economically.  The process of mining overburden and waste materials is referred to as stripping. In the production stage of some operations, further development of the mine requires a phase of unusually high overburden removal activity that is similar in nature to preproduction mine development.

N.A. Degerstrom’s pit development and engineering expertise, together with our large and diverse equipment fleet provides for optimum use of equipment during stripping operations.  NAD provides the equipment and personnel to achieve maximum productivity while meeting the client’s schedule, thereby allowing for a more flexible mine plan.
