Decades of expertise in civil engineering and heavy construction throughout the early 20th Century made expansion into contract mining a natural, logical move by N.A. Degerstrom, Inc.  Since the early 1960s, when the company began its contract mining business, NAD has produced more than five million ounces of gold from one billion tons of ore, as well as large quantities of zinc, lead and copper, phosphate, limestone and talc.  As it did so, it established itself as a highly reliable and innovative low-cost operator.

NAD is looking for a qualified MINING ENGINEER.

Salary Range: $65K to $80K

JOB SUMMARY

This position directs and coordinates the mining process by performing the following duties.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist team with relevant calculations to bid work.
  2. Communicates priorities and problems to Operations Manager and Site Superintendents.
  3. Analyze labor requirements, equipment needs, and operational costs to compute and prepare budget reports.
  4. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to solve problems concerned with environment, production and safe working.
  5. Survey and calculate volumes for invoicing purposes.
  6. Communicate plans and priorities with Clients and Company Superintendents to ensure work is being properly prioritized and performed. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below.  These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job. 

Education and Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

  • a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • a minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
